Indonesia KF-21 Boramae Export Negotiations

South Korea had been expected to sign a preliminary agreement for the export of 16 KF-21 Boramae fighters during President Prabowo's state visit, but no such agreement was signed at the April 1, 2026 summit. The two presidents discussed continuing the KF-21 project and Prabowo said he would send a technical and engineering team, with aircraft specifications and a new payment scheme still to be settled. The 16-jet plan is a reduction from Indonesia's earlier target of 48 aircraft. If finalized, Indonesia would become the first KF-21 export customer.
